We have some very exciting news to share with you. As we kick off our 100th year celebration, people are stepping up to help enable our moshava to grow.
We want to highlight one of those supporters in particular:
The Shaham-Klausner family, a leadership family at Camp, have made a $50,000+ contribution!
The initial $50,000 will allow us to make much needed repairs and updates to our kitchen. And if that wasn't generous enough, they also made a significant contribution to our Endowment Fund to help secure the future of Hashomer Hatzair USA and Camp Shomria.
We are so moved by this generous contribution and are grateful for their commitment to our movement.
In Dan Shaham's words, "It was so important to me that my kids have a connection to Israel and Judaism that wasn't imposed upon them by their parents. I am so grateful that Camp Shomria gave my children this connection and identity."
There are still many ways we hope to improve our moshava. We continue to need funds to repair and replace aging facilities at camp, grow our scholarship fund, and support our year round programs.
P.S. If you would like to have a further conversation about other possible ideas, please email or call Randy Gorod, our Development Manager, at randy@campshomria.org or 404-510-2868.
The couple shown in the photo both look so familiar to me. Would I have known either of them during my years in the tnuah (1948 – 1955). I was mainly in Chicago,, but was on shlichut to Montreal in 1956 … and what a wonderful bunch of folks I knew back then. Montreal was one of my life’s highlights!

I’m so glad that Mar Shaham can give that amount. He also looks like someone
I might have known in the tnuah … although he’s much younger and was in the
tnuah much later. Oh well! Mazal tov to kol tuv to them from me, in Guatemala …
where no one from the tnuah has ever visited me. The winters here are marvelous,
with temps from 40 in the a.m. to 80 late in the afternoon … and no precipitation!
