Thank You, Roni

Since joining our staff in 2022, Roni Ziv has played an important role in strengthening and growing our movement. Through her leadership and dedication, we expanded our programs, increased participation, and deepened our outreach to campers, bogrim/ot, and families in our community.

As Roni steps down from her role as Camp Director, we are deeply grateful for all she has contributed as both a staff member and dedicated bogeret of Hashomer Hatzair.

Roni will certainly be missed. Her commitment, organizational skills, deep knowledge of Hashomer Hatzair, and unwavering dedication to the movement were a source of inspiration for both the staff and the hadracha.

In her opening letter, Roni wrote that she hoped to “be a presence that everyone in our community can lean on.”

It is safe to say that Roni far surpassed that goal.

Hashomer Hatzair has its Ten Commandments (Dibrot). The tenth teaches that a shomer/et must act according to their convictions and set ‘dugma ishit’, a personal example. Throughout her years of leadership, Roni embodied that value every day.

Every conversation with a boger or bogeret eventually turns to nostalgic stories about shlichim/ot, madrichim/ot, and unforgettable moments in the movement. We are confident that when the current generation remembers their experience in Hashomer, Roni will feature prominently in their fondest memories and most treasured stories. Without a doubt, Roni has left a lasting mark on Hashomer Hatzair USA.

Thank you, Roni, for leading by example, being a presence to lean on and giving so much to our community as Camp Director.  Join us in wishing Roni the best of luck.We know that wherever she goes, she will continue to inspire those around her.

Chazak Ve’ematz,

Minna Elias and Tal Klausner on behalf of the Hashomer Hatzair USA Community
