Thank you, Omer & Yuval!

Dear Shomeric Community,

After 2 years of representing Hashomer USA and Camp Shomria in our role as Mazkirim, it has come to an end 😢 September has been a reflective and bittersweet month for us, and it has allowed us to look back at the priceless experience we’ve had.

We’re personally very grateful for what we were able to accomplish with the support of the community. Two years ago, we achieved our dream of creating a Mosh space in the city through the Hashomer Bayit (Thank you Roni Ziv!), where we can now think back on countless memories of Hadracha life. We increased the rate of Hadracha seminars from 1 per year to 3 to practice peer education and inspire political action in the movement. We continued the New York Ken and brought Hashomer Kenim back to New Jersey with the help of Hadas and Noga, who are both looking forward to an awesome year continuing as Roshei Ken NJ! We did a lot of work with young bogrim in imagining how Hashomer might be able to fit into their post-Shomria lives.

We want to thank the year-round team that helped make this time in our lives so meaningful, not just in the work we did and values we developed, but in the good times we had. We also want to thank the hadracha that allowed us to steer the ship for 2 years. We’re truly excited to see what the future holds with the next Mazkira, Ori Ben Itay, and the rest of the year-round team. We can see how ignited they are about the movement!

This is not our goodbye to Hashomer USA as a community, just our role as hadracha members in year-round leadership. We are still a part of this community, and you will even see us leading/participating in some events in the future.

Chazak V’ematz,

Yuval and Omer Nathaniel

Mazkirim 2023-2025
