Yedid Year Round Program

Starting this year, the Yedid program will take place throughout the year, not just during the summer. The year-round component of the Yedid program will include 9 sessions throughout the year and weekend camps. Each participant in the summer Yedid program must take part in at least 6 sessions during the year (weekend camps and kvutzot seminar are considered within this as well).

Pricing: $300 (Includes 9 training sessions and weekend seminars in NYC. Does not include pricing for Peulat Stav, Mosh Choref, Family Camp, or Lag Ba’Omer).  

The Educational Program:

Hadracha (Counselor) Training:

Participants in the program will undergo workshops and training sessions aimed at developing their instructional skills in an enriching and supportive learning environment. The training will focus on various teaching techniques, leadership development, group-work methods, content creation, communication skills, and how to handle challenging situations that arise during instruction. 

Deepening Jewish Identity:

Throughout the year, participants will engage in activities and content designed to deepen their understanding and familiarity with their Jewish identity. They will learn about Jewish history, traditions, holidays, and core values. The program will include studying Jewish texts, discussing spiritual topics, and participating in various Jewish rituals and customs.

The program will provide participants with an understanding of the Jewish diaspora and the diverse Jewish customs and traditions around the world. They will learn about Jewish communities in different places, including those communities’ history, challenges, achievements, and how they maintain their Jewish identity. The sessions will include personal stories, lectures, and discussions about Jewish life in the diaspora.

Familiarity with Israeli Society:

Program participants will be exposed to social, cultural, and economic issues characteristic of Israeli society. They will learn about the history of the State of Israel, its political and social structure, the various groups that make up Israeli society, and the challenges and opportunities facing the country. The program will also include meetings with public figures, social activists, and Israeli cultural figures.

Deepening the Understanding of the Value of Socialism:

Participants in the program will deepen their understanding of the values and principles of socialism. They will learn about the history of the socialist movement and grapple with key ideas such as equality, social justice, cooperation, and cooperative economics. Additionally, participants will engage in discussions about the application of socialist principles in everyday life and examine the benefits and challenges of this model.

Group Bonding and Process:

The program will include activities aimed at strengthening the sense of belonging and kvutzah (group) cohesion. Participants will undergo team-building workshops, teamwork exercises, and group tasks designed to develop their ability to work collaboratively, build trust among group members, and create a strong and supportive community.

Enhanced Familiarity with the History of the Hashomer Hatzair Movement:

Participants in the program will learn about the history of the Hashomer Hatzair movement, the background of its establishment, its activities over the years, and its contribution to the Zionist movement and Israeli society. They will be exposed to stories of movement members, historical discussions, and various aspects of the movement's activities in the educational, social, and political fields.

Expanding Knowledge About the Zionist Approach of Hashomer Hatzair from the Establishment of the Organization to the Present Day:

The program will focus on understanding the unique Zionist approach of Hashomer Hatzair from its inception to the present day. Participants will learn about key ideas such as Zionist settlement, the establishment of kibbutzim, the movement's activities during the pre-state period and the founding of the state, and the impact of the movement on Israeli society and the Jewish world. They will examine how these ideas evolve and adapt to the modern era and discuss the challenges and future vision of the movement.
